What this site is, what it isn't, and the limits of what you should rely on it for.

Primer & Poise is published by MadGrey LLC. By using this site you accept the terms below. They are written to be read rather than to be impenetrable, and the important ones are in the first two sections.
What this content is
This site is editorial opinion and product research. Recommendations are judgments made against the published criteria on how we choose, based on manufacturer and retailer information, published ingredient lists, product format and packaging, and reported experience of products on mature skin.
It is not based on laboratory testing. There is no lab here, no instrumental measurement and no tester panel, and every page says so in a scope note. Where a page describes how a formula behaves, that is reasoned from how the product is composed and documented.
It is not professional advice. Nobody behind this site holds a cosmetology, esthetics or medical qualification, and no page implies otherwise.
It is not medical advice, and this matters. Several pages touch arthritis, tremor, low vision, dry eye and rosacea. In every case the page describes how a product is physically built and refers the condition itself to a doctor or optometrist. Nothing here diagnoses, treats or manages any condition, and you should not delay seeking medical advice because of something you read on this site.
The limits of our recommendations
Products change. Formulas are reformulated, shades are discontinued and packaging is redesigned, often without announcement. A recommendation reflects the product as we understood it on the date shown on the page.
Skin differs. A formula that suits most mature skin may not suit yours, and we cannot predict how a product will behave on your face, your climate or your routine. Where a page makes a general claim, it is general.
Shade cannot be matched remotely. No page on this site can tell you which shade will match you. How to match your foundation shade sets out a method; it is not a substitute for testing.
Patch test, and read ingredient lists. If your skin is reactive, test on the jaw for three days before putting anything across your face, and check the manufacturer's current ingredient list rather than relying on our summary of it.
We may be wrong. If we are, tell us and we will correct it. That is the whole of our undertaking on accuracy, and we take it seriously.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer in dealing with a retailer.
