How this site makes money
In plain English rather than legal boilerplate, because you are entitled to a clear answer.

Primer & Poise earns commission from qualifying purchases made through links on this site. If you follow a buy link here and purchase something, the retailer pays us a small percentage. That is how the site is paid for.
You never pay more because of our link. The price you see at the retailer is the price you would have paid arriving any other way. The commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not your pocket.
The Amazon Associates statement
Primer & Poise, published by MadGrey LLC, is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
Amazon is currently the only retailer we link to. Every buy button on this site goes to an Amazon product search for the item named, with our affiliate tag attached.
What the commission does not affect
It does not affect which products we select. Picks are chosen against the published criteria on how we choose, before any link is added.
It does not affect how they rank. Because every link goes to the same retailer, the commission is effectively identical across every product on this site — we earn the same whether you buy the product ranked first or the one ranked last. There is no financial reason for us to put one product above another, which is a genuine structural safeguard and worth naming as one.
It does not affect what we say about them. Every pick on this site carries a stated limitation, including the products we ranked first, and every roundup names something we would not buy.
And it does not stop us recommending nothing. Several pages here conclude that you should use less of what you already own, change a free habit, or buy no product at all. Those pages earn nothing and they are some of the most useful on the site.
Where you will see the disclosure
At the top of every page that carries a buy link, as a visible strip rather than a line buried in the footer. If a page can earn us money, you should know before you read it rather than after.
Under every individual buy button, marked `#ad` with a link back to this page.
In the footer of every page on the site, including the pages that carry no links at all.
That is more disclosure than the rules require, and the reason is simple: a disclosure you have to look for is not really a disclosure.
Why there are no prices on this site
You will see "Check price on Amazon" rather than a number on every buy button here. That is deliberate and it is worth explaining, because the obvious assumption is that we are hiding something.
Prices change constantly, and a stale price on a review page is worse than no price — it misleads you, and it quietly undermines every other figure on the page.
This site has no live price feed. The mechanism to carry one is built: there is a single price file that an automated daily refresh would populate, and a freshness rule that makes any price older than 48 hours disappear by itself. Until that data exists, the file is empty by design and the buttons say what is true — that the live price is on Amazon.
If prices are switched on later, each one will appear with a visible "as of" date and will expire automatically. A price with no date attached is not information.
What our links do
Every buy link on this site goes through an internal redirect at `/go/` before reaching the retailer. That is standard affiliate practice and here is what it means for you.
It adds our affiliate tag to the destination, which is how the retailer knows the visit came from here.
It goes to a product search rather than a specific listing. We have no verified product identifiers for this site, so rather than guess at one — which could send you to the wrong item — our links search the retailer for the product by name.
It opens in a new tab, and the link is marked `sponsored nofollow` in the page's code, which is what search engines expect of a paid link.
It is not indexed and it does not track you across other sites. The redirect exists to attach our tag and send you on; we do not set advertising cookies, and the only analytics on this site is Google Analytics measuring aggregate traffic.
Questions about any of this
Email contact@primerandpoise.com or use the contact form. If anything on this page is unclear, that is worth telling us — a disclosure that is technically complete and practically confusing is not doing its job.
If you would rather not use our links at all, that is entirely reasonable: search for the product name directly and buy it however you prefer. The recommendations are the same either way, and the pages are free to read.
