Privacy policy
Short, because this site collects very little. Written in plain English rather than legal boilerplate.
Last updated October 2, 2026
Primer & Poise is published by MadGrey LLC. This policy explains what happens to your data when you read this site, follow a link from it, or send us a message.
The short version: we collect aggregate analytics, we do not sell anything about you, we do not run advertising trackers, and the only personal information we ever hold is what you type into the contact form.
What we collect
Aggregate analytics. We use Google Analytics to measure how many people visit, which pages they read and roughly where they came from. This is used to decide what to write next. It records technical information such as your approximate location, device type, browser and the pages you viewed, and it sets cookies to do so. We do not use it to identify you individually, and we do not combine it with anything else.
Clicks on buy links. When you follow a buy link we record that a click happened, on which page, for which product, in our analytics. That is how we know which recommendations people find useful. It is aggregate — we do not build a profile of what any individual clicked.
What you send us. If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, your email address and your message. The form also records a timestamp of when the page loaded, which is part of the spam defense and is not retained.
Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request information, including IP addresses, for security and operational purposes. The contact form additionally keeps a short-lived in-memory count of submissions per IP address — a rate limit, which is discarded when the server restarts.
What we do not collect
We do not sell or rent personal information. To anyone, for any purpose.
We do not run advertising trackers. There are no ad networks, no retargeting pixels and no third-party advertising cookies on this site. The only third-party script is Google Analytics.
We do not run a newsletter or an email list, so there is nothing to subscribe to and no mailing list you can end up on.
We do not require an account and there is nothing to log into.
We do not profile you across other sites. Our own buy-link redirect exists to attach an affiliate tag and send you on; it does not set tracking cookies of its own.
Affiliate links and the retailers you go to
When you follow a buy link from this site, you pass through a redirect on our domain which attaches our affiliate tag, and then you arrive at the retailer — currently Amazon in every case.
At that point you are on the retailer's site and subject to their privacy policy, not ours. Retailers typically set their own cookies to attribute a purchase to the site that referred you, which is how affiliate commission works, and they may collect considerably more about you than we do.
We receive no information about what you looked at or bought. Affiliate reporting shows us aggregate commission, not individual purchases, and we cannot see who you are or what you put in your basket.
If you would rather not pass through our link at all, search for the product name directly. The recommendations on this site are identical either way and the pages are free to read.
Cookies
Analytics cookies, set by Google Analytics, to measure aggregate traffic. These are the only cookies this site sets.
No advertising cookies, because there is no advertising on this site.
No preference or session cookies, because there is nothing to log into and nothing to remember.
You can block cookies in your browser settings, and most browsers let you do so per site. Blocking them will not affect anything about how this site works for you — nothing here depends on a cookie.
How we handle contact form messages
Messages sent through the form arrive as email. They are read, replied to where a reply is appropriate, and kept only as long as that correspondence is useful.
We do not add you to anything. Emailing us does not subscribe you to a list, because there is no list.
We do not share your message with brands, retailers or anyone else.
If you tell us about a factual error, we may act on the information — correcting a page — without identifying you. We will not quote you or name you on the site without asking.
Your rights, and how to use them
Email contact@primerandpoise.com about anything on this page.
To ask what we hold about you: since the only personal data we hold is contact-form correspondence, this is usually a quick answer.
To have it deleted: ask, and we will delete the correspondence.
To opt out of analytics: block cookies for this site in your browser, or use Google's own opt-out tools. Nothing on the site breaks as a result.
Depending on where you live you may have additional statutory rights over your data. Ask and we will comply with them — and we would rather you asked than assumed we would be difficult about it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated date at the top of the page changes with it. If a change is material — if we started collecting something we do not collect today — we would say so plainly on the page rather than relying on the date.
